This vintage photograph captures a section of the campus of City College in New York City. The university of par of the CUNY (City University of New York) system and was founded in 1847. Though it charges tuition now, at the time of its founding, City College was the first free public higher education institution in the US. This image was captured sometime between 1900 and 1915.
