Alexandria Airplane Factory

This vintage photograph gives us a look at the rich history of Alexandria, Virginia. Captured in 1918, this beautifully composed photograph was taken inside the factory of the historic Berliner Aircraft Company. The facility was located on N. Asaph Street in Old Town, Alexandria, just a few blocks from the Old Town Print Gallery studio!

We've digitally restored this unique piece of aviation history; working on a digital scan of the original glass negative, we repaired damage, removed dust and dirt, and corrected fading. This restoration work has brought the old image back to life, perfect for making reproduction prints.
