Photographs from the Civil Rights Movement

The civil rights movement sought to abolish legalized racial segregation, disenfranchisement, and discrimination throughout the United States. Many of the movement's legislative goals were achieved in the 1960s, after years of nonviolent protests and civil disobedience. This collection includes vintage photographs from the years of the civil rights movement, as well as portraits of its most prominent leaders.
