The Vermont State Fair was one of the first of its kind in the United States. Starting in 1846, it was originally a single-day event. In just a few years, the fair became so popular that additional cars were added to trains to transport people from western New York and Vermont. By 1893, the fair had been extended to a three-day event with more and more attractions being added. This vibrant vintage photograph was captured at the 1941 fair by photographer Jack Delano. The posters and banners in this image advertise fair attractions such as "Teddy the wrestling bear" and a 618-pound snake.
We've digitally restored this historic photograph, expertly reversing the effects of time. With old color photographs, the most important part of digital restoration is correcting the discoloration and fading that can happen over time. Working from a digital scan of the original color slide, we've brought this vibrant image back to life in full color. Our fine art reproduction prints are made with museum-quality paper and canvas, both of which display these bold colors beautifully. Our paper and canvas are both certified archival, so you can be sure the bold colors on your prints will last a lifetime.
