Gallaudet College was established in 1864 as a grammar school for deaf and blind children. Today, it is the only higher education institution where every program and service has been designed to accommodate deaf and hard-of-hearing students. This vintage photograph of the historic college was taken in 1933, nearly 70 years after the school's founding.
Thanks to our careful digital restoration efforts, this historic photograph has been returned to its original condition. We have digitally repaired damage, removed dust and dirt, and corrected fading. Free of the wear and tear of time, the beauty of the image can shine through once again.
Our reproduction prints are made with archival, museum-quality paper and canvas, each of which is rated to last over 100 years. Our prints are made with care by our skilled technicians at our studio in Alexandria, Virginia. Click here if you'd like to read a bit more about our prints and materials.
Please contact us if you have any questions or if you'd like to request a custom size. We're happy to accommodate custom requests whenever possible, but do want to note that custom sizes may require cropping the photograph.
