Clipper Ship, St. David
Pickup available at Old Town Print Gallery
Usually ready in 2-4 days
This vintage photograph, captured in 1905, features the American Clipper Ship, St. David, at sea. The ship was built in 1877 and carried cargoes of coal and lumber. The historic image takes viewers back to an entirely different era, when ships with sails still carried trade cargo, rather than the massive container ships we know today.
Working on a digital scan of the original glass negative, the Old Town Print Gallery team has digitally restored this historic maritime photograph. We repaired damage, removed dust and dirt, and corrected fading. With this work done, our print reproductions reflect the original, pristine condition of the photograph.
Each fine art reproduction print is made with care at our studio in Alexandria, Virginia. We use archival, museum-quality paper and canvas for our prints, ensuring they will last a lifetime.
