Glen Echo Amusement Park became a heavily promoted "trolley park" after the Washington Railway and Electric Company purchased the site where it was located as a way to increase ridership on the trolley line from DC to Glen Echo. Previously, it had been a small amusement park. After the purchase in 1911, it was renovated and expanded, and became a prominent amusement center in the DC area. Coaster Dips, a wooden roller coaster, was a staple at the park for decades. This vintage image, captured in the 1920s, captures the entrance to the infamous coaster.
Working with a digital scan of the original photo print, our team has digitally restored this historic image, preserving the moment in time. We've repaired damage and cleaned up dust and dirt, returning the image to its original, pristine condition. You can bring this unique vintage image home with our fine art reproduction prints. Our prints are available on fine art paper and canvas, each of which is made with archival, museum-quality materials.
