College Hall is the oldest building on the University of Pennsylvania campus. The building was completed in 1873, and this vintage photograph was captured several decades later in 1905. While it can't be discerned in this black and white image, the building has a unique green color, as it was built with green serpentine stone. College Hall is currently home to the undergraduate admissions office, classrooms, the Department of History, and the offices of the university president.
The University of Pennsylvania has a long history, and our digital restoration work aims to help preserve that history. We have digitally repaired damage, removed dust, and corrected the fading that occurred over time. With this work done, our reproduction prints reflect the original condition of the image. Our prints are made with archival, museum-quality prints and make perfect gifts for current students and alumni alike! You can learn a bit more about our prints here.
