College Hall is the oldest building on the University of Pennsylvania campus, and this vintage photograph shows us the building as viewed from the southeast. The sprawling, ivy-covered building leads the viewer's eye across the image, taking in each unique section of architecture. College Hall was completed in 1873, and this photograph was captured a few decades later, in 1900.
We've digitally restored this historic University of Pennsylvania photograph; working from a digital scan of the original glass negative, our team removed dust and dirt, repaired damage, and corrected fading. With this work completed, our fine art reproduction prints reflect the original, pristine condition of the image. Each print is made with care at our studio in Alexandria, Virginia. We use archival, museum-quality paper and canvas for our prints.
