Cow Grazing in Madras, Oregon

While most of the vintage photographs in our collection feature prominent locations and historic landmarks, others feature quiet, rural moments in time. This image, captured in 1936, is one such image. The only subjects in the sprawling landscape are a cow and her calf, which is drinking milk under the cloudy sky.
