The Castillo de San Marcos is the oldest masonry fort in the continental United States. It was completed in 1695, while Florida was part of the Spanish Empire. Over the intervening centuries, possession of Florida and the fort changed many times. The fort was renamed multiple times, and was under the name Fort Marion at the time this vintage poster was made in 1938. It wasn't until 1942 that the original Spanish name was restored.
Our team has digitally restored this historic poster; we've repaired damage, cleaned up dust and dirt, and corrected the fading and discoloration caused by time. With this work complete, our fine art reproduction prints reflect the original, pristine condition of the poster. We use archival, museum-quality materials for our prints. Our paper and canvas are both rated to last 100+ years, so you can be sure your print will last a lifetime!
Vintage posters were not made in standard sizes, so unfortunately, we aren't able to offer all of our posters in the exact same sizes. In an effort to create a standard system, the sizing for our posters is based on the long dimension of each image. While the short dimensions will vary, you can order multiple prints with the same long dimension to create a uniform look when displaying your prints.
