This vintage stereograph image was created in 1905 and features an image of Harvard's campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Stereographs are a unique piece of photographic history. Each consists of two nearly identical photographs, taken roughly 7cm apart from each other, which were typically mounted on a card. When these stereograph cards were viewed with a special device known as a stereoscope, the viewer saw an illusion of a 3-dimensional image. Stereographs were most popular between 1870 and 1920, with many collecting them along their travels.
Working from a digital scan of the original stereograph card, our team has digitally restored this unique piece of history. We have repaired damage, corrected fading, and removed dust and dirt. Our reproduction prints are the perfect way to bring this unique moment of photographic history into your space. We use archival, museum-quality materials for our prints; both our paper and canvas are rated to last over 100 years. Each print is handled with care at our studio in Alexandria, Virginia.
