Log Train

Captured sometime between 1900 and 1920, this vintage photograph depicts a log train carrying a load of timber that stretches out of the frame. Several felled trees can be seen in the foreground as the train passes through a section of forest. 

Our team has digitally restored this image. Working from a digital scan of the original glass negative, our team has taken care to correct fading, remove dust and dirt, and repair damage. Our goal with digital restoration is always to maintain historical accuracy, using modern techniques to preserve the history of the photographs, maps, and posters in our collection.
