This historic photograph of the Maine General Hospital in Portland, Maine (predecessor of the Maine Medical Center) was captured between 1900 and 1910 with a glass negative. The building was dedicated in 1874, with only one of the planned four wings completed. Many wings and additions were built over the following decades, and the original structure is still visible today.
Our team has completed a digital restoration of this vintage image, removing the damage and dust that tends to accumulate on historic plate negatives. Returned to its original condition, you can now purchase reproduction prints in a range of sizes. Our prints are made with museum-quality materials, rated to last over 100 years.
