Memorial Hall was built to house the art exhibits for the 1876 Centennial Exposition. Over 200 buildings were constructed in Fairmount Park to display exhibits, but Memorial Hall is the only major structure still standing. It has served many purposes since the Exposition, and is currently home to the Please Touch Museum, a children's museum. This vintage photograph of the historic building was captured in 1900.
We've digitally restored this beautiful vintage image, bringing some life back to the over-century-old photo. The bulk of our digital restoration work involves repairing damage and cleaning up dust and dirt, but we also correct fading and loss of contrast. With this work complete, our fine art print reproductions reflect the original, pristine condition of the image. We use archival materials for our prints, so you can be sure they'll last a lifetime. Our paper and canvas are both museum-quality, producing beautiful prints in both black and white and color. You can read a bit more about our prints and materials here!
