Portland's Union Station operated from 1888 to 1960 and was located in the Libbytown neighborhood. This vintage photograph of the station was taken between 1900 and 1910, half a century before the building was demolished in 1961. A strip mall is now located on the site of the historic train station. Notably, the demolition of Union Station led to the creation of Greater Portland Landmarks in 1964, a preservationist group.
The Old Town Print Gallery team has digitally restored this historic photograph, and we now offer reproduction prints on museum-quality materials. Fine art paper and stretched canvas prints can be purchased in a range of sizes, offering a unique decor piece for any home or office.
