This vintage photograph features Science Hall at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. When first completed, Science Hall was home to classes in geology, geography, physics, zoology, and many other scientific subjects. The building was constructed in 1888, and this image was captured with a dry plate negative sometime during the next decade. A horse-drawn carriage traverses the dirt road stretching from the building, helping to place the image in time.
Working from a digital scan of the original glass negative, our dedicated team has digitally restored this beautiful vintage photograph, helping to preserve this moment in time. Our reproduction prints make great gifts for alumni and current students alike, adding a unique look at the past to any home or office. We use only the highest-quality materials for our prints; both our paper and canvas are archival and museum-quality, each rated to last 100+ years. We offer our prints in a range of standard sizes to help make framing a breeze, no matter what your space looks like. You can find more information about our materials and prints here, if you'd like to read more.
