War Memorial Tower, University of Pennslylvania

War Memorial Tower (known today as just Memorial Tower) was built to honor alumni of the University of Pennsylvania who lost their lives in the Spanish-American War. The 6-story tower features carved limestone ornaments and is the gateway to the Upper Quad on campus. The building was completed in 1901, and this vintage photograph was captured just a few years later in 1904, with a glass negative. 

The Old Town Print Gallery team has digitally restored this historic photograph. From our studio in Alexandria, Virginia, we've digitally removed dust and dirt, repaired damage, and corrected fading. Having brought the image back to its original condition, we can now offer flawless reproduction prints. Our prints are made with archival paper and canvas, each rated to last 100+ years.
